A different kind of celebration
Paramahamsa Vishwananda's birthday draws people from around the world to Shree Peetha Nilaya — long-time devotees, first-time visitors, and the simply curious. What people describe afterwards is often unexpected. Not the buzz of a celebration, but something quieter. A kind of fullness that tends to stay for weeks.
Some come for all three days. Some come for one. Some come knowing no one. All are welcome.

People come from around the world for Paramahamsa Vishwananda's birthday. Many describe returning home changed in small but lasting ways — calmer, clearer, more settled. The celebration runs over three days and includes traditional ceremony, teachings, music, and darshan.

A Satguru's birthday in the bhakti tradition
In the bhakti tradition, a Satguru's birthday is considered one of the most auspicious days of the year. The Sanskrit word Satguru means "teacher of truth" — in the tradition, a teacher understood to embody what they teach. Devotees describe such a birthday as a day when the teacher is not teaching but celebrating, and when the atmosphere of a gathering can feel especially open and alive. There's nothing to prepare and nothing to perform. Come as you are.

Paramahamsa Vishwananda — the teacher at the heart of this day
Paramahamsa Vishwananda is the founder of Bhakti Marga and a teacher in the Hindu bhakti tradition. He was born in Mauritius in 1978 and has taught publicly in more than 40 countries since 2005. In the bhakti tradition, he is regarded by his students as a Satguru — a realized teacher understood to embody what he teaches. Devotees describe his teaching not as a set of ideas to learn, but as something lived and transmitted.
In his own words: his purpose is not to have people renounce life, but to help them love it more fully.

You can totally keep it simple. Bhakti is about love. We recommend you start with something that you can sustain — like a few minutes of japa, a short prayer, maybe one small offering. With time, your heart opens, and your practice may grow naturally.
Yes. Most people have no background in Hindi, Sanskrit or Indian philosophy. The power and vibration of these ancient mantras and rituals go far beyond their meaning.
